Flying into the Future

On a recent paragliding flight over the stunning peaks of Mt Blanc, Axe’s flying instructor shared a critical lesson with him that resonates heavily in today’s business environment.
“The only reason we can fly in a paraglider is because of two things—technology and human power. Look after both, and you’ll be around for a long time. Neglect either, and you will be in trouble.”
It was a simple truth, but one that resonated far beyond the mountain slopes. The paraglider—the technology—makes flight possible. But it won’t fly itself. It needs a human pilot to understand conditions, make split-second decisions, and respond to the unpredictable.
Without technology, we’re grounded.
But without human skill, we’re lost.
It’s the partnership between machine and mind that allows us to soar.
The same is true in today’s corporate world, especially as we navigate the rise of AI.
Technology like artificial intelligence isn’t here to replace us—it’s here to extend what we’re capable of. When we pair powerful tools with human creativity, empathy, and judgment, we unlock entirely new possibilities. Just like in flight, it’s not one or the other—it’s both. Those who embrace this partnership will be the ones who rise above!
Just like paragliding, thriving in today’s business world takes both reliable tools and sharp human judgment. That’s why leadership development programs and soft skills training for leaders are essential—not just to survive, but to soar.
